Propane Fireplaces

A propane fireplace gives you real flames and warmth at the flip of a switch, with no wood to haul and no ashes to clean. Wrightington Propane supplies propane for indoor fireplaces, inserts and outdoor fire features across the South Shore, and we handle the tank, the gas line and the deliveries that keep them running.

Indoor Propane Fireplaces and Inserts

Indoor propane fireplaces are a popular way to add heat and atmosphere to a living room, den or finished basement. Many direct-vent models vent straight through an outside wall, so you don’t need a traditional chimney. If you already have a wood-burning fireplace, a propane insert or gas log set can turn it into something you’ll actually use on a weeknight.

  • Instant on and off with a switch, wall control or remote
  • Steady, adjustable heat without tending a fire
  • No wood, smoke or ash to deal with
  • Backup warmth during power outages, since many propane fireplaces can run without electricity (check your model)

Outdoor Fireplaces and Fire Features

Propane makes it easy to enjoy a patio or deck well into the fall. Through our HVAC and outdoor living team, we offer propane fireplaces, fire features and grills for outdoor spaces, and we can connect them to your tank so there’s no small cylinder to swap out. If you’re also heating a pool, we can plan the gas lines for a propane pool heater at the same time.

Fueling Your Fireplace

A fireplace can run off the same propane tank that serves the rest of your home. We’ll check that your tank is sized for the extra load, run the gas line to the fireplace and make the connection. For homes that don’t have propane yet, we handle propane tank installation, aboveground or underground, including permits.

Once you’re set up, automatic propane delivery and wireless tank monitoring keep your tank filled, so your fireplace is ready on the first cold night. For whole-house backup power during winter storms, pair it with a propane standby generator.

Propane Fireplace FAQs

Do I need a chimney for a propane fireplace?
Not always. Many direct-vent propane fireplaces vent through an exterior wall. The right option depends on your home and the model you choose.

Will my propane fireplace work if the power goes out?
Many models can, because they use a standing pilot or battery-powered ignition. Check your fireplace’s manual, or ask us when you call.

Can my fireplace share a tank with my furnace and water heater?
Usually, yes. We’ll confirm your tank can handle the combined load before we connect it.

Do you deliver propane in my town?
We deliver throughout the South Shore, including Kingston, Plymouth, Pembroke, Norwell and Scituate. See the full list of towns we serve.
